Hairstyles for the year 2008 were a great mixture of short and long hairstyles. Celebrities this year seemed to lean towards shorter styles as the runway continued to create exciting and unique trends. We are seeing more and more shades of warm red this year and multi tonal colors have become more popular than ever before.
Short and shaggy cuts as worn by Keira Knightley and Jennifer Aniston were interesting and unique styles this year, as was the straight sedu hairstyle. Trendy punk hair proved that it is still very much in fashion.

These striking hairdos involved bold coloring and sometimes even shaving parts of the head! In contrast, the smooth, non-frizzy curls that made their rounds this year were a throwback to the 50s. Emo and scene looks are still around and bobs, layers and bangs make up the rest of the hairstyles that were favored this year. The essence of the hairstyles of 2008 was great texture, cut, conditioning and shine.
